Our Mission

To provide development opportunities that empower young active citizens to create positive change

Our Vision

To be the leading global network of young active citizens

We believe:

That faith in God gives meaning and purpose to human life

That the brotherhood of man transcends the sovereignty of nations

That economic justice can best be won by free men through free enterprise

That government should be of laws rather than of men

That earth’s great treasure lies in human personality

That service to humanity is the best work of life.

Who We Are

We are young active citizens who are members of Junior Chamber International. We are committed to making an impact by creating positive change in our communities in Ibadan. We believe that a more peaceful and progressive world can be achieved through active Citizenship; individuals assuming responsibility to solve problems in our immediate communities.

Our Projects

The Elite Club

In line with the United Nations sustainable development goal 4 on quality Education, JCI Ibadan Elite established clubs in different secondary schools in a bid to instill the culture of active citizenship in pupils and cause a behavioral change that could prepare them as trustees for the future of our committees.

This project is piloted in three schools being Valencia College, Akobo, The International school, Ibadan and Oritamefa Baptist Model School.

Adopt a School

Some months ago, members of JCI Ibadan Elite found a government-owned primary school in our community which was in a deplorable state. Pupils were learning in an environment that was neither hygienic nor safe for children . We had seen a need. We had to take a lead.

We immediately flung into action, meeting with stakeholders and they all identified the same needs which we put on a scale of priority and charted the plan for our intervention. Our conclusion was to “Adopt-the-School”.

Hangout with the Elites

On the 11th of March 2019, JCI Ibadan Elite held the first edition of “HANG OUT WITH THE ELITES”. It had in attendance over 60 potential and intending members of JCI in addition to about 15 members of JCI Ibadan Elite who were on ground to meet with, engage and discuss JCI with the potential members. Some other Local organizations including JCI Ibadan, JCI Olubadan, JCIN University of Ibadan, JCIN The Polytechnic Ibadan among others, were represented.

Hang Out With The Elites was birthed in response to the “2019-in-2019” vision of JCI Nigeria to recruit 2019 new members to JCI Nigeria in 2019, as well as our LO theme to “Lead Out Loud” in 2019.
